About Us

At Feather Run Farm we have developed a great passion in riding and treating our horses with feel and respect. Together we offer over 20 years of experience and our goal is to provide a safe and beautiful place for all ages and disciplines of riders. We base all of our teachings off of Buck Brannaman's style of Horsemanship. We believe that this method of Horsemanship is the greatest tool that too many riders overlook/disregard before understanding what a positive change it can make. Our riding began way before we had heard of Buck Brannaman, Mindy Bower, Martin Black, Ray Hunt, Terry McClare, and their method of working with horses. We were both so blessed with wonderful first horses that were gentle and safe. However, when we made the leap to young, unstarted horses things began to be not so safe, we were at a loss at what to do. We had been actively involved in 4-H and a lesson program at a show barn since first owning horses but our new situation was far out of their help. If we had not found this style of Horsemanship, we could have been seriously hurt by these horses. Finding and using this style of Horsemanship has been the key to success with our horses. Eight years have passed since we started down this path... it has been and always will be the greatest, most humbling, ongoing journey of our lives. Now we are at a point in our lives where we feel it is time to help spread the word and help others like ourselves. This style of Horsemanship is not only a training tool but it is also a foundation for a better relationship with the horse and a tremendous confidence builder for the rider.
It really is the key to ALL TYPES of riding!
The foundation that this style of horsemanship offers will benefit any rider from Western Pleasure, Hunter/ Jumper, Dressage to your backyard pony. We believe it to be absolute key to success with your horses. There really is no better feeling than ending each ride with a horse that is just as relaxed and happy as you are. And for some of you, there is no better feeling than getting in the saddle and feeling safe, and knowing that you can take your horse anywhere and nothing is going to fall apart that you can't handle.
We as humans have a tendency to stereotype, and we know that some will read this and roll their eyes in disbelief but if you open your mind and your eyes to what the potential could be, and you see the results it can produce, you will realize there is really no better way to handle your horse. It's not magic, it's not fake, it is a way of life, and a way of riding that can open so many closed doors. Doors we believe are closed because of the type of horse, the cost of a horse, the age of the horse or even if the wind is blowing out. Granted everyone and everything has limits but it is wonderful to build confidence in yourself & your horse. So many people think they have to use pain or fear on their horses (and even with people) to perform better, sharper or faster, but you don't.You really don't. Like we said, it is a lifestyle, and if you get just a piece of it, you will never want to go back. We hope that you will pick our brain with questions or come and join us and allow us to show you what a great thing it can be.
Thank You!

Testimonials
Amigos Mickey Mouse AKA Bo and Carol Bohnson
"After my school master passed, I did not think that I would ever find a horse as trusting, loyal, and intelligent as he was. I had almost given up looking for a new sidekick, when I came across Amigo's add. As an adult amateur, I was looking for a horse that I could grow with in ability, but also feel confident on. Raising him from a colt, Bethany created a wonderfully charismatic equine. I was amazed when I purchased him at just 7 years old, the ability he had and all that he had been so correctly taught. I am grateful for the work that Bethany put into Amigo, her patience and knowledge truly molded him into an excellent mount."

Uptown Funk AKA Huck & The McKinney Family
"Excellent care and intuitive care givers and trainers. The covered arena allowed my daughter to practice in the worst weather and the outside arena is very large and inviting. The warm water wash racks A+++ for those cold baths before a show.Total package at Feather Run Farm. They rescued us from our green and mean gelding. Bethany trained the owners and the horse about respect and proper horsemanship .
Our award winning Huck would not be here if their diligent care had not heard his distress after casting himself in the stall at almost 11 at night. How many barns check on your horse so late?
I cannot say enough great things about Bethany and Rebecca. The top notch lessons for rider, training for the horse and always delightful to be around. No drama here. Their attention to detail, washed buckets and troughs, picked stalls, plenty of hay.... when was the last time you saw your barn wash the stall feed and water buckets????
Extreme quality of care here. We love that the stalls have a large run out so that he could step outside when he wanted. My daughter and horse thrived at Feather Run. Don't miss out on this wonderful farm.
Lessons, training, or board you cannot get any better service."
